Senior Buyer
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. degree and/or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience purchasing raw materials in manufacturing and large-scale project environments.
Experience buying metal fabrications and raw materials preferable.
Working knowledge of MRP systems preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX.
In-depth understanding of MRP concepts including bills of material.
Must be “hands on” with strong problem-solving acumen.
Strong analytical skills with attention to details.
Required to have an extensive working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, works independently, displays initiative, and solves problems with proficiency.
Orchestrating precise shipping logistics to China while deploying cutting-edge systems to optimize the job site in the USA, ensuring a seamless and high-performance operation.

JOB DUTIES:
Analyze messages from and MRP system and place orders in a timely manner.
Forecast and plan assigned commodities at the SKU level.
Manage suppliers to reduce costs, improve quality, control inventories, and ensure timely flow of material.
Monitor and report key performance metrics, including Purchase Price Variance, inventories, shortages, and supplier performance.
Manage inventories to ensure continuous production while maximizing turns.
Develop thorough working knowledge of assigned commodities and associated supplier base.
Develop a thorough working knowledge of required MRP / ERP systems.
Bring ideas to management and be able to implement necessary process improvements.
Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines.
Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.
Travel required up to 10% of the time.
