Position Summary
The Landscape Construction Superintendent will lead and manage on-site teams, ensuring all construction work is performed efficiently and meets quality and safety standards. The role involves coordinating activities with subcontractors, vendors, and crews, maintaining schedules, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management and Supervision
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and crews to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Supervise project foremen and on-site crews, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to specifications.
- Safety and Compliance
- Understand and enforce safety rules and regulations on-site.
- Provide safety training and conduct toolbox talks.
- Schedule and coordinate inspections with relevant authorities.
- Documentation and Quality Control
- Maintain and update accurate redline drawings on-site.
- Ensure completion of punch list items and adherence to project details.
- Approve and manage daily timecards.
- Technical Expertise
- Train crews in landscape installation techniques, including hardscapes, retaining walls, planting, low-voltage lighting, and irrigation systems.
- Design and build irrigation systems based on meter size, pressure, and flow.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Coordinate with owners, designers, and municipalities to ensure project requirements and codes are met.
- Communicate effectively with the project manager to prioritize and adjust schedules as needed.
